Henry was the Human Resource officer in his company. He has troubles keeping track of his employees’ performances, as he himself experienced stress at works. He was strict to employees, implemented many policies, and frequently terminates workers who can’t fulfill their work objectives. As result, he received a lot of complaints from his subordinates, who addressed him as ‘cold’, ‘merciless’ and even ‘monstrous’.

He managed to rebuild the rapport with his employees, and increase their productivity. The stressor was still there, but he was able to handle it more efficiently, as well as supported his subordinates to deal with their own personal issues.

The term ‘stressor’ refers to anything physical or psychological that produces stress in human. The fast pace in business, heavy workload in organization, or the lack of personal freedom; all these factor are stressors that produce a great deal of stress in employees, which interfere with their productivity, motivation and health.
